rEvolve Dance Theatre Program – The Body as Language Workshop The rEvolve program is an all abilities community contemporary dance theatre program designed by Owen Allen to facilitate social discourses.
The workshop is the front end of the full program that would culminate in a public performance. The front end is working with movement as the basic units (movemes) of a language through which whole stories can be presented. Participants will discover an delightful expressiveness through whatever they can bring to the floor. The work is done in individual, partner, and whole group modes.
Hosted by – Owen Allen who is a 39 year career physiotherapist working in leadership and dance.
Impacted by the 2019-2020 bushfire season and the extensive drought, Owen has wrapped up his career in North Queensland to bring his work in ontological leadership training, and all abilities dance theatre, to your communities.
Owen has facilitated rEvolve workshops with a variety of small groups, producing an all rural male work “The Forging of Men” (2016). He has also facilitated groups of around 50 at the Global Transformations Conference in Hollywood (2019), and the Newkind Conference in Tasmania (2020). He has also worked with the Forum Dance Collective in Florida on their piece on water (2019), and presented the workshop to the International Scientific Conference on Movement and Cognition in Tel Aviv to the acclaim of rehabilitation professionals (2019).
