Glamping at Rebel and Michaels was everything we hoped it would be! The tent was cosy and very cute and the facilities were all we needed especially considering we had the luxury of heading over the the bore baths each evening before bed. Rebel and Michael are extremely knowledgeable about the area and about opals and paired with their excellent hospitality they make the perfect Lightning Ridge hosts I would recommend this stay to anyone with an excitement for opals and a love of nature!

Alesha

Worth it 100% would definitely recommend

Camping at charlie’s camp was a wonderful experience. Rebel and her husband are wonderful hosts and know so much about the local area and the opal mining industry. There is also plenty of fossicking opportunity at the camp ground.

Damien

We had a great time staying here. The Bell Tent was great, the site was awesome. Met the great animals, including the frogs! 😉 Rebel did a lovely job hosting and it was a great spot to be in to get into town. If you want a rootsy, warm hearted place, then YUP 🙂

Jessica

Amazing experience in lightning ridge! Rebel and Michael were so friendly and knowledgeable and made me feel right at home. The tent was lovely inside with everything to make you comfy and cosy. Would 100% stay again next time I’m in town. Thank you!

Laura

What an excellent way to spend time in Lightning Ridge. The tent was so comfortable and in the middle of winter was warmer then expected. Rebel and Michael went out of their way to make sure we were fully stocked with wood for our fire pit and had water bottles on hand to ensure we were warm. We were well and truly occupied with the fossicking around the property and patting Rusty the resident pig. We were so stoked that Michael let us check out his fossil collection. The property was in a super convenient location. Would definitely visit again when in Lightning Ridge.

Sonia

We had a great time. Micheal was a wealth of knowledge on both opals and fossils which added to our trip.

Rebels’s property was absolutely fantastic! Located close to many of Lightning Ridges attractions, the glamping tent is very well appointed, super comfy and warm and cosy. Rebel was incredibly friendly and welcoming and had heaps of great tips for discovering all Lightning Ridge has to offer. A must stay when you’re in town!

Simone

Absolutely loved my (Email hidden by Airbnb) munication with Rebel was fast and easy. The glamping tent was so cosy and comfy, and Rebel and Michael were fantastic hosts. Oh, and make sure to say hi to Rusty, the pig! A wonderful place to stay and explore all Lightning Ridge has to offer. Tip: Just make sure you have Telstra on your mobile in Lightning Ridge otherwise service is non-existent.

Jared

Super lovely hosts, the Yert was so glamorous and comfortable and we love the little opal pieces we found out the front too! We miss Rusty the pig already 🙂

This place was beyond the perfect little hideaway, I would even go as far to say it was our little home away from home. Michael and rebel have done wonders to make this place readily available for everything you could need. The relaxed atmosphere, the chic design of the teepee and the most amazing little tweaks really did make it perfect. Worried about staying in the cold – it’s okay hot water bottles! They really have thought of everything you might need and have gone above and beyond to make it lovely. We had our own private little fire to which Michael was more than happy to help us get going. It was close to the main part of town, but still far enough away to be a quiet piece of outback paradise. Would 100% recommend to anyone eager for a small splice is heaven whilst “glamping” in the outback.

Chris

Such a unique place to stay in a completely iconic Aussie location. Loved the 2 night stay in the yurt. Rebel provides lots of extras, like the hot water bottle on the cold nights! Michael built up a lovely fire for us on the first night, enabling us to sit outside and view the sparkling stars and bright Milky Way . Rusty the wild / tame pet boar was an added attraction! Having the permaculture garden to pick extra veggies to add to our salad was great! I’ll definitely make a return visit to stay in the yurt again and join the Dinosaur dig one day!

Steve

What a great stay in a charmingly unique accomodation at Rebel and Michael’s little piece of paradise in the Aussie iconic Opal Mining town of Lightning Ridge. My partner and I stayed quite comfortably in the the yurt tent surrounded by beautiful morning sunrises and sunsets along with brilliant star lit night skies warmed by a roaring camp fire. The camp kitchen/living area was well equipped and fun to use. Michael and Rebel were fantastic hosts, communicative and friendly without being intrusive. Loved chatting with them and would stay there again in a heart beat! The location is close enough to town yet isolated from other houses, therefore a peaceful and serene vibe. Rusty the pig was a kick. 🙂 Overall, a fabulous stay! Thanks again from Steve and Linzie

This is a great base to explore Lightening Ridge from, Rebel & Michael are great hosts, generous with their time and stories. The setting is pretty, the tent very comfortable and we loved our nightly outdoor fire and Rusty the pig.
Julian

Cute, well styled space. Great local knowledge. Toasty warm, despite being icy cold outside. Water bottles were a nice touch. Close to town, great local knowledge.

Linda

Beautiful space to get away from it all. The bed was super comfy and Rebel is just lovely. The resident pig is gorgeous

Dana

Amazing stay

Nicole

Just great! Comfortable bed. Sitting outside with a fire each night after a relaxing soak in the artesian baths, under the moonlight. Just unforgettable and we felt so relaxed staying there. It’s everything Rebel says..& more

Stuart

Loved it! Thanks Rebel and Michael x

Laurence

Appears a bit rustic when you first see it, but It does grow on you. Very peaceful. Not at the high end of the glamping scale but then when you see how some of the opal miners live, perhaps it is!

Christy

A wonderful place to experience a different lifestyle and to rediscover yourself.

Vicki

An amazing glamping experience in the outback in an unique airbnb. Highly recommended!!

Stephanie

Luxe glamping tent located on a small property just out of town. Great outdoor amenities (kitchen, seating, garden, firepit) with a little walk to shared (with other guests) bathroom and toilet. Rebel & Michael are great hosts and there are thoughtful touches everywhere such as a well stocked tea cart in the tent. A great base for a stay in the Ridge. Will definitely visit again!

Ben

My comments sent Rebel Thank you for hosting us and as I said the “experience” was wonderful. Thank you for the “little things” ie: cordless fan and mosquito coils. Loved the fire pit . We will absolutely recommend. Thank you

Fiona

Certainly something different and a great glamping experience. The camp kitchen was great and good to chat to other people staying and learn about the amazing horticultural work going on. Even got fresh veggies from the garden for dinner!
